Programme:
Dr, Gerrit Kaschuba to speak about the origins, current
projects and publications of the institute.
Final
reflection of the Ulm project group on the first project year: |
|
What
have been the main emphases? |
|
Have
the project’s aims been reached? |
|
How will a lasting development of the FA’s European
contacts be achieved? |
To get an
evaluation of the participant’s views, the following questions were asked:
Imagine that a journalist would enter the room and ask for an interview:
“You have participated in a European Learning Partnership.
Did you stand to gain from it? Would you recommend participation?”
What would be your answer?

Leading
question:
You have participated in a European Learning Partnership. Would you
recommend participating and when yes, why?
|
Participating
in a learning partnership is always an exciting opportunity to enlarge
your personal experiences and can be rightly recommended. The common
experiences, the method training, the variety of the project’s work;
all of this is very enriching. |
Absolutely
yes!
For me to exchange with other women in a group and even more the encounters
with women of other European projects were of a real personal gain.
I was lucky to travel with three more women to Belfast and was introduced
to completely different structures of education possibilities. The
closeness to the political and social environments of Northern Ireland
opened to a different point of view. Personal contacts with open-minded
women full of the joys of life, each with a different background,
are enriching. The preparatory courses in English and on personal
computers opened new possibilities of contact. Processes of heightening
one’s awareness are enriching.
|
Yes,
I would recommend participating as I have learnt and found out that
exchange on
an inter-cultural level is very impressive: linguistically, emotionally
and politically, concerning education. |
Yes,
I would recommend participating. Though I think that more emphasis
should be attached to a possible communication in the English language.
I recommend participating because we, in Europe, should approach one
another, we women – in slow steps – not in enormous congresses and
not in huge events.
Who gets involved in the project will experience the vast variety
which develops through communication with others and who will be rewarded
if we open up to this new variety.
Furthermore, with the project’s work in its third year I would like
to thoroughly support the women in Eastern Europe.
. |
Yes.
Because it’s highly motivated.
To enable you to get out of your own shell to see the world, to experience
other cultures and to broaden your horizon.
To be able to help each other and to help ourselves.
Support each other.
Be positive in our life. Be confident.
To be strong and to help us to stand on our own ground.
It’s never too late to learn, to update our knowledge, ‘cos it’s always
something new we can learn everyday.
To enlighten and inspire ourselves. |
I would absolutely
recommend participating, as the horizons, especially for women, really
broaden. Through meeting and travelling with and to women from different
parts of Europe, our minds open to problems of different natures in
women’s education. Gratitude towards our privileged situation in Germany
remained. A lot of interest, affection and humanity developed in interchanging
with our partners from other countries. On this basis, women can be
the cornerstone for the countries of Europe to get closer. |
Yes.
I participated in this project of learning partnership enthusiastically.
I could broaden my horizons through taking the opportunity of travelling
to Belfast and there, on the spot, got in contact with other women.
There is nothing like the experience of learning, not even news or
TV reports!
I could reactivate my own language (English), get more knowledge on
the personal computer and was able to make friends. The common experience
in our group as well as our common ground and our creativity were
great. For me, this year was very enriching.
|
Yes,
I would recommend participating. On the one hand it is very interesting
to talk,
without prejudices, to women from other countries on the same level,
on the other
hand, one learns and practices English. One experiences personal and
country-specific
things, all that is not in the papers. Living conditions, feelings,
behaviour and
therefore, one tries to bring oneself and one’s country closer to
the others. To cut
down on prejudices (on both sides) and fears (like Belfast).
One gets new ideas about oneself and one’s abilities than one might
have estimated
before, wins new friends and more self-confidence. One is able to
meet women from
all classes.
